I have been messing with this issue for the last 3 weeks. Many sleepless nights
A little background on the vehicle. 2007 Sequoia SR5. 357k Purchased about a month or so ago, owner said he had front end work done and once done the trac/lights came on.
No CEL, just Trac/Off lights. 3 codes showing. ABS system malfunction, LF Speed Sensor, and Steering angle sensor.
After research it seemed like it just needed a Zero Point calibration. So I used the paperclip method found online, which seemed to work; however, I could not verify other than watching the lights while doing it. Next I replaced the LF Speed sensor but the code showed again after clearing. Granted I guess it could be a bad sensor. ( I do have an underlying suspicion that the speed sensor may be reporting an issue because of a bearing issue at that location, I have noticed a bit of what you might call rough rolling while driving. If you have ever done a wheel bearing you probably know what I am talking about. Would that cause the speed sensor to pop up? ) I do have Techstream working. With that I was able to see the same codes. I also verified the steering angle sensor showed 1150 at startup and then zeroes at 28mph per the TSM.
My thought process at this point is try a zero point calibration again if possible with Tech stream even though I couldn't find any info on how to do that, Also couldn't see any options within the software. Next, maybe try another speed sensor, replace the front bearing.. replace the steering angle sensor...I feel like I am just throwing parts at it. I feel like the codes should be showing me something I am missing. Any insight would be great. Thanks.
