My brakes on my LC 100 make a pumping sound when I start the car which I understand can be the pump filling the accumulator.
My question is two-fold...

The pump is pumping longer and at lights, stop signs not just when I start the engine. Is this a sign of a leak? Should I be concerned?

Second, I was told the ABS resevior may be empty causing the noise. However I can't find a resevior or a diagram showing one.
Cas somebody give me a clue where it is or IF there is one?

Thanks.

I get the same sound, two different dealers and an independent shop told me it was 'normal'. It's been doing is since I purchased the vehicle and haven't had any issues.

Yes the brake booster pump runs for a few seconds on startup and it runs after you use the brakes to maintain pressure in the system.

My experience is consistent with the assertion that this is normal and no cause for concern.

It's one of those things that once you start listening for it, you will always notice it....I annoy pretty much anyone who gets in my truck with "do you hear that?" questions...I'm very honed in on every annoying noise/vibration....part of owning a LC, I think.
