I figured this could benefit everyone with old, cracking plastic in their vehicles, so that's why I'm asking here.

Does anyone know of a good cement for repairing ABS plastic? Several sections of my dash are either cracked or ready to break completely (constantly taking it apart hasn't helped), and I know if I just replace it, any replacement plastic will be just as old and brittle as what's there now.

Any plumbing supply house will have all purpose cement that will work on both abs and pvc. Not sayin it'll work though...it's not cement in the normal sense of the word. It works by chemically melting/bonding two pieces together. It wouldn't "glue" anything, but abs/pvc.

That's exactly what I want is something that'll bond the plastic. I'm just used to model-building terminology (model glue was just an adhesive, and model cement was used to actually bond the plastic).

Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, they all carry ABS, PVC or ABS/PVC solvent based cement. I'd try a test before you get to carried away, just to make sure it will work.
