Been having a problem this week with the Transfer and ABS light coming on. They come on and off randomly. I've checked the brakes and they are fine. The transfer and ABS light both go off if I shift to neutral and pull into 4 low then back to high. That works for a while then it does it again. Any thoughts?
It may be the switch in the transfer case or the wiring. You could try pulling the plug on the transfer case and see if that makes a difference (one of the two ways of disabling the center diff lock in low). It it still continues, then it would be in the wiring or perhaps the control system, but I would make sure that the wiring is not damaged. The fact that it is cleared by putting it into low tends to suggest that it might be the switch in the transfer case, so I would start there.
You could get the center diff lock switch and do the pin 7 mod, but if the switch on the transfer case is claiming to be in low, so it is locking the center diff and turning off the ABS, it would also be changing the shift pattern, so you need to find the problem.
