My first time working with the auto to any great degree..
Ive read a few posts about trans issues and didnt find anything directly related.
I have a 13BT/A440 in the final stages of install into an FJ62. The trans has issues and Im wondering if its the trans or torque convertor that is the issue in this case.
I have no reverse. Almost none anyway. It wants to go if you rev it a bit, but its not enough to get it moving very fast.
Forward gears all work, but the TC does not seem to want to unlock with drive engaged and the brake on at idle. There is a lot of strain on the engine.
Fluid was drained pretty well when it was out so I filled the tc on assembly and filled and checked/re-checked the fluid level.
I have another trans to try, but if general consensus is that the tc is bad im stuck .
I have not removed the pan at this point.
