a440 slipping

my 62 has started slipping in first gear. fluid level has been checked and is okay. when i hit the highway after driving down my driveway it slips in first gear only. i back off the gas, it catches and doesn't slip again till it cools off. it will not slip if i hit the highway and baby it until it shifts to second gear. all other gears seem fine and converter locks up normal. no temp or pressure lights have come on. question is: will any attempt to remedy with filter and oil change be helpful. truck has about 175000 and trans is original(sure looks like it)

Check your kick down cable, had the same issue and it solved it for me.
