Hey everyone,
Transmission has never felt right for the longest of time I remember...
It does not seem to shift into 4th gear.
The O/D off lamp is off. (bulb is working)
If O/D off lamp is on, it caps at 3rd gear.
Is there a way to read transmission fault code like how we can read engine fault codes by jumping the diagnostic connector in the engine bay?
There was a small oil pan leak for some time so over the weekend managed to pull the pan and reseal with rtv.
Also manage to clean the filter and checked the 3 solenoids with compressed air while the pan was off.
Solenoid no1 and no2 works fine, they both click firmly when power is applied. it stays close when no power is applied and opens when 12v is applied.
Solenoid No.3 (TC LOCKUP) was toast, it does not click when power is applied. It was stuck in half open position, so replaced with a spare one that works.
Filter had some cardboard pulp kind of substance trapped in it? cleaned with brake cleaner and dried with compressed air.
(Trans was repaired by someone else before due to no reverse.)
Magnet has no large chunk of metal, only the greyish paste.
Other than that it is pretty clean inside.
Also did a trans fluid flush with 12lit of dex 3 by following one of the guide on the forum.
Still does not seem to shift right after the flush...
Fluid level is ok.
Kickdown cable on throttle body is reasonably tight and not seized.
Engine revs approaching 3000 on 3rd gear at 90KM/H on highway and not shifting up.
Is there any additional troubleshooting tips?
Also, what are the shift points for the A340E under normal condition and on highway? (e.g. 2nd gear at xxx KM/H xxxx RPM, 3rd gear at xxx KM/H xxxx RPM)
