Check out the Gold Lake run for next Saturday. I'm in if there'll be more than one rig. Such as myself. Otherwise, I'll have to come up with a plan b.

I trust my rig. Depends on what my passenger wants to do.

If you're looking for an easy day trip, and by easy, I mean practically out the back door from Reno, look into Jumbo Grade. BLM land near Washoe Lake. Spiderwebs of trails barely 15 minutes south of Reno. Take east lake blvd off 395 (like you're going to Carson), and follow that around the lake. Bout 1/2 mile to a mile past the gas station is the turn to the trail head. You can splinter off in a few different directions. Super easy trails, just more scenic and great views of washoe valley. About a 1 on a 5 scale. Any trails over the peaks drop into Virginia City. Gotta stop by the smoke house bbq place if you go.

I'm still getting to know the trails, so I'm not the best one to ask. I think Moon Rocks has a little of everything from what I hear. Can't tell you how to get to it though.

To late for this weekend but Hunter Lake is a nice trail, not real tough but a cut above Jumbo Grade. Actually thats not true, there are routes that you can take up Jumbo that are fairly challanging.

Bronco Canyon is getting to be a challange, but you almost need a guide to find it the first time.

Steves Loop is a nice trail with a couple of waterfalls that are fairly tough. I think Hills Angels did a Steves Loop run Sunday. The problem with SL is it is a short trail and a long ride out there. You can always fool around at Moon Rocks while you are in that area though.

Edit: Eldorado Canyon is another one that can be mild or wild.

Id be down for a Deer Valley day run in the next couple of weeks.
Most will say its an easy trail...a few years ago maybe, but its getting more and more difficult each year. Its pretty tight and technical in some spots. Not the Rubicon by any means, but it will keep your attention.

If you wanna plan a day...
I really enjoy this trail and run it a couple of times a year. I broke BAD earlier this summer, so I do have a healthy respect for this trail.

Here are some pics for referrence!
The first 2 pics here are of the "gatekeeper"... IMO, IT is getting harder each time I go. The rocks are shifting and its getting more and more rutted. If you can get past this, youre golden!

I remember the Hummer group, I've never seen so many pissed off trophy wives in one spot before.

how does maniana sounds?

Love to, but I work.
Im pretty much limited to the weekends for "on the fly" wheelin.
Besides, Im in Jury duty this week.

Dam I have jury duty next week.

Its actually quite interesting!
Ive never been on Jury duty before, so Im learning a lot.
Lots of folks are kinda pissed to be there. The up side for me is that Im still getting paid at work...if I was not, then it'd be a different story all together.

K

ok, so hit me up and ring my bell whenever you feel like "getting dirty":steer:

Well do!
Ive gotta check my call schedule for the weekends, so I can figure a day that works.
Once that is established, well post a thread here to see if anyone else wants in.

sounds good to me:hillbilly:
my gear kit is here, my front locker & compressor will be here Wed, I have a guy who moved to sun valley and open a small off road shop who gave me a super install price and if it will be good, it means we will all have a close by place to go to:clap:

You might try moon rocks

Moon Rocks. Out Pyramid Hwy to Winnemucca Ranch Rd. About another 6-7 miles to a dirt road that only goes left (west) 1 1/2 on the right hand side. There will probably be lots of wheelers out there. See pic.
