A-pillar trim replaced?

Hi all. Just looked at a generally very clean 2004 LC. Only real red flag is that the A-pillar trim on the driver's side has been replaced. It's close, but not a perfect match. This is the inside cloth trim.

No evidence of paint work anywhere on the vehicle. All panels have their VIN stickers (for the correct VIN). Windshield isn't original, but 12 years on I would not expect that. Driver window glass is Toyota.

Any idea why the trim would be replaced? Is it prone to peeling or coming off?

On my LC - PO had the windshield replaced and they cut into the A pillar trim when removing the windshield. I am guessing thats the reason it was replaced. I wished PO of my LC would notice that and make them replace it

Same thing happened to me when my windshield was replaced.
