My RH spare door is hurting. Shutting the door becomes more and more of an issue. And I can see through the seams that the hinge is tearing away at the body super structure support.

I often wonder if this is from past owners hitting the trails with 45 psi in the tyres. The same with roof racks breaking gutters. My FJ73 had broken seat mount welds from the previous owner whom I suspect pounded the vehicle over harsh terrain. He was smaller than me but once I had the mounts rewelded there was never another problem and I did a lot of offroading in the 73. I also kept the rear door latch adjusted and lubed the hinges.

It’s pretty simple. The door hinges and superstructure were not meant for the weight.

Nothing more, nothing less.
