I have had the hesitation problem upon take off or a hard accereleration in my 2f equipped PIG. Went through everything I could think of starting with rebuilding the carb. Then onto checking vacuum and ignition. everything seemed normal. Back to the carb. Had that thing off four times now. I have headers that are Emission compliant. I unsmogged and wanted to cut that EGR port off, weld up, sand blast, and Cerekote. My intake was weld repaired at some point by some PO, sodecto check the weld and added some water.

An Hour later. I guess Ill try another weld repair. Never welded aluminum, but that's what I have a Fancy welder for. Nothing to loose in trying.

Gonna fix this up too. Blast and cerekote.

Think I would elevate the intake manifold so you could inspect the other side to see where it is leaking. Trying to weld the entire area could fit one leak and create another one.

Yes I am cleaning it up a little and fill the bottom up with water again and lift it to see the water trail on the other side. My welder expert is on his way over to help my formulate a plan to weld the intake as well as the stainless header. Always wanted to cut that EGR port off.
Finding this vacuum leak had been a real motivator for me. Was losing hope running down the list of culprits multiple times!. I just assumed the current weld repair was ok, but upon further inspection the weld was poo! I used a vacuum gauge and got normal readings after all. only leaks upon hard acceleration.

Block off the ports with rags/plugs as best you can, mix up some dish soap and water 50-50, apply some air pressure to the ports (having leakages fine as it will only take a few PSI) and apply the soapy mixture with a small paintbrush to the suspect area and you'll find your leaks via bubbles

Router with endmill and template to remove the old crappy weld. I'll clean it up a bit more.

You can see the old crack on the left side. The part that was leaking was whereI drilled the hole.
