First one is a guy who has 80 acres of land by lowes motor speedway and is going to start having races there once a month and opening it up to the public on the other weekends (for a fee) to use. Sounds Promising

Next is the April Fools day Toyota Crawl in Kentucky... kinda far but not too far for some with the time. TiredIronGRB helps put this one on
3rd Annual April Fools Day Toyota Crawl (Harlan, Ky) - North Carolina 4x4 Forum

This last one is the 2nd annual 4x4 cross at uwharrie stables... this is the event that was run in Uwharrie last year but they made their own course at the stables this year. Eskimo ran in it last year and I know some of you guys made it as did I. Looks to be a good get together... if anyone from here is going let me know we can all set up camp together.
Official 4x4cross Jamboree May 22nd-24th - North Carolina 4x4 Forum

no ones going to the Uwharrie fest this year??

We're trying to come up with a March event. If I could get some more info on the place near Lowe's speedway, that could make a good, easy, close ride...

There is more info up on the original link about the Lowes. It seems that the owner is really cool and is willing to let anyone go out there on the non race day weekends for $10 a rig and do some wheeling. There are now pics up in the thread of some of the things out there. It looks promising.

There is also a place called adventure world near rock hill in SC that used to be only ATV's but is now trying to branch out into 4X4 rigs also.

Dear Senator,

I am writing this to all the Senators on the Commerce Committee, asking you to support Senate Bill 45*, which, according to The North Carolina General Assembly web site, is now under consideration by the Commerce Committee.

We have an odd happenstance here, in my opinion. At a time when national interest in preserving the environment is extremely strong, we also have a huge growth in Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) ownership and use. These two interests have continued to collide over the last couple of years as the swelling OHV usership seeks areas to enjoy their sport while environmental activists try to protect our natural resources and environment.

In this bill you have a unique opportunity to bring the two disparate groups together! Passage of this bill would be a forward step in providing OHV access in an environmentally sound environment. Creation of The OHV Trust Fund and implementation of the bill would allow our state to be on the forefront of a movement to provide environmental friendly, properly designed and managed OHV recreation areas for the citizens of North Carolina!

I also would like to urge you to emend the wording of the bill as it pertains to OHVs. All terrain vehicles (ATVs) and motorcycles are not the only users of OHV trails. Many full size, four wheel drive vehicles such as Jeeps are also used in an OHV manner as well as dune buggies, and with the proliferation of the sport, custom built chassis off road vehicles. I would like to add these OHVs to the bill by emending the wording to read; "Off-highway vehicle" or "OHV" means any off-road motorcycles, three or four-wheel all-terrain vehicles, four wheel drive motor vehicles intended by the user or owner to be used in recreational pursuits, custom chassis rock crawlers, or dune buggies. "

Thank you for your consideration of this bill which would be beneficial not only to the OHV community but while providing environmentally sound OHV recreation would also speak to North Carolina's forward thinking in environmental/recreation issues on a national level!

Thanks for your help

Thanks for posting this information, we as a club will put together a letter to send and CC all senators on the list. I advise others to do the same on their own.

I already got replies from most of the senators on the list thanking me for my input. Kinda nice that state senators actually take the time to respond to emails. I sent the same message from to other email accounts I made just to send it.

Up date on the adventure world one... it's a no go now the owners decided not to do it.:frown:

The one near lowes did happen and people go out every weekend to help cut some more trails. So if anyone in the area is interested in going out there .....
