Just got finished unpacking and washing 3 days worth of dirt off myself.
GSMTR was an awesome event this year as usual. The organizers do a great job.
The trails are challenging on all levels with the "easy" trails being challenging as well but very do-able for most everyone.
Its an easy 6hr drive mostly highway to get there and the spot is perfect for a ton of people which were there this year. I was thinking there was prob 75+cruisers there of every shape and size.

Heres a few pics from the week

by far the nicest truck there... This thing looked even better up close. The detailing is all painted on not stickers....

I think either would be a good choice. There are a few tighter sections on trails that if you are worried about scratches then having a smaller truck would be necessary. Since i bought mine pre scratched and dented its not as much as a deal for me. Driving the 40 there would be long, prob more like 8hrs vs 6 but towing it would be no prob. It wouldve been nice to have a topless truck out there because the weather was beautiful.
There were a few guys out there who drove their 40s 8-10hrs. Pretty impressive.

Good stuff Josh. Did y'all win anything? So, you didn't take the 40??

 R

no winnings this year unfortunately.

I took my 80 because it was going to be easier to get there quicker. I rolled out sat late afternoon so i could have all day Sunday to clean up take over parenting duties again. My "Josh Time" credits run short and my hobbies are abundant so i have to save where i can!

This park is a dream for 40's without a doubt. It was the first event ive been to in a long time where 40's were not outnumbered by 80s or fj cruisers which was really cool. Next time i go to this place i will take my 40

The camping was abundant and tons of space for it. It wasnt just a big field either.

The guy who's pic is above with flames on it... While the flames are not my cup of tea it was actually one of the best looking trucks out there. His 2 boys sat in the truck and when he was literally pointed straight up bouncing up the rock garden the kid in the back never even looked up from the book he was reading. it was a trip.

The rock race was sick... I think someone posted videos over in the STLCA or GA Cruisers Section.

a few more for the day!
