The front section of my rear a/c lines on my 01LC rotted out, the rear sections were previously replaced. I am trying to decide weather to cap them off or replace the front sections of the lines now.
1. How hard is it to change the sections from the front wheel well to the connections above the muffler?
2. Does the rear a/c cool the air in the vents in the roof for the second row of seats or is it only for the 3rd row?
3. For those of you that have capped them off, does the front a/c keep the entire truck cool enough on a really hot day?
4. How much refrigerant are you charging with when the rear is capped off?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Capped mine before last summer. Keeps truck plenty cool for front and rear seats. Not sure how well it would do for third row

Not sure on the freon fill question. I had a shop do that part

I believe you have to lift the body off the frame an inch or so on the passenger side to fit the line as it crosses over to the inside of the frame about half way down. I think there are 8 bolts that you have to loosen to lift the body, and hopefully they are not rusted out too badly. You might be able to just loosen the bolts on the passenger side, lift the body a bit, and then try to get the line over the frame. I think the bolt under the seat is the hardest to get to, but maybe somebody who has done a body lift can chime in. The ac line is about 6' long and has a lot of bends. Be careful when tightening as the lines are made of aluminum. Make sure the o rings are there.
