So today I was sitting in a line of cars waiting to drop some things off at the dump. Driving my 2000 LX
Outside temp was about 80 and we were sitting in direct sun so I had the A/C on
after sitting pretty much stationary for 15 mins I checked my OBD scanner temp out of curiosity and coolant was at 197 which I thought seemed a bit high, but not dangerous
Shortly after the A/C compressor started to cycle on and off every ~2 seconds. Along with that the recirc light on the button would switch from fresh air to recirc every time the compressor switched on and off
Turned off the A/C and the engine temp came back down to 190. Driving home on the freeway A/C seemed ok.
I actually had this happen about a year ago and my mechanic cleared a stored code related to the rear A/C but he didn't recognize it.
Anyone know why this might be happening?
My coolant looks nice and red and the level seems to be fine. 197 seems a bit high for 80 degree weather.
