If you need to replace the soft-line hose on an assembly, can you just cut off the ferrule sleeve, replace the hose and ferrule, and re-crimp it?

Or is the proper repair to cut off the old fitting and braze on a new one?

Yes, when the crimp collar is cut off it is just a hose barb under the hose. When I did a 3.4 swap from a 99 4Runner on my 88 pickup, I used the 99 compressor fittings and the 88 fittings. I just cut off the collars and hose, added new hose cut and indexed like I needed and took them to a shop to crimp. You can use hose clamps but not ideal.

Sorry, I didn't get the video to play at first.
