My sister called today and told me she's got some issues with the a/c on her '95. I know that when I rode in it a while back the a/c just didn't seem to blow as cold as my '97. Put the gauges on it and reads fine, I attributed it to the lack of tint on the windows and 100+ texas heat.

Now she said that it doesn't cool for squat and the idle is droping and then coming back up. As far as I know she said she hasn't tried to use it again. My father nor I can look at the cruiser 700 miles away. Any ideas.

I do recall my dad did some washer/spacer mod to keep the engine from reving up during cold starts. This also screwed the idle up as it would always stumble kinda low but with the a/c it would idle back up to 900ish.

Well any ideas......god only knows how mad girls get when they are hot and I feel sorry for those in her path.

Wow, another chick with a cruiser? Why none in Florida?

Thought Texas women were supposed to be sweaty.

Mine is doing the same.

Idle changes as A/C compressor engages then cuts out. I think mine is the temp switch, but I won't know until I install the coolant temp gauge, make sure it's below 226, and if so check the temp switch. More this w/e.

Maybe

Just replaced the expansion valve on my 94 was sticking worked fine idiling in the shop with the gauges on take it out for a drive and eventually it would stick and run the head pressure way up which of course affected the idle.
