Last weekend a friend and I installed an Ironman 4x4 dual-battery monitor into our 2003 Land Cruiser family overlander build and part of the process required us to remove the paneling under/above the steering column to wire the battery monitor to a terminal in the wiring harness that's shared with the lights.

After finishing the work, I drove off and discovered the A/C is now blowing hot air. The rear A/C is working perfectly fine.

So, my question is whether anyone knows if there's a switch (or baffle) that may have accidentally been touched while removing/replacing the panels above/below the steering column? Since the rear A/C is working fine, any concerns of compressor etc seem to be out.

Any input is GREATLY appreciated as it's hot as hell here in Texas (it's mid-November) and the A/C sure would be nice to use.

I believe the front/rear run on separate fuses. You've probably already checked (one in engine compartment and one in cabin on D/S)...but if not, it could be that simple.

Check all of your fuses and relays first. Then since you were working under the steering wheel, check the interior temp sensor that is located infront of your right knee. Should have 1 set of wires and a white conduit looking hose going to it.

You can also put the ac in diagnostic mode. Hold the auto recirc button and auto simultaneously the turn key to on and hold until the system beeps. This will check all modes/ sensors/ actuators. If testing while in shade/garage a code 21 will appear and just means the sun sensor is not registering the sun. Anything other codes that flash should be an easy search. To exit this mode hit off or turn off ignition.

I have an 06 lx and when mine was only blowing hot air, my problem was the wire connectors for the led footwell light and then temp sensor were switched. They are the same style connectors but one is white and one is black. (White to the light and black to the sensor)

Good input, fellas.

I did check and actually changed out ALL fuses to be sure it wasn't a fuse issue. That didn't correct it.

OG100, I'll try out your suggestion and will keep everyone posted. Thanks!

Are you in Auto climate mode or manual? Iirc, the auto sensor is under the ignition switch. Since the rear blows cold, your compressor is working. Try manual mode.

I had the same experience, forgot to plug the cabin air temp sensor back in. I cleaned it while I was messing with it and plugged it back in and everything went back to normal.
