A/C Idle up

So, I replaced the A/C Idle up valve on the cruiser because the old one was shot. I turn on the A/C and see the RPM's at idle move up to 1000. (That's the right setting, I think.) But when I turn off the A/C, the cruiser stays idling at 1000. When I leave the car to sit for a while and then start her up again without the A/C on, the idle is back at 650.

I haven't gotten under the hood as of yet, but if anyone knows what it could be, I may be able to fix it on my lunch break.

Check the vac lines to it. MAke sure they are on correctly, and also make sure the linkage is not binding on anything. If it hasn't been used in a while, it may be a bit gummy.

I've replaced many of the vacuum lines on the cruiser already. I will probably check the linkage. But, if I recall correctly, I lubed up all of the moving parts on the carb after I rebuilt it....hmm.
