A/C compressor problem???

Got a 83 stock FJ60, the A/C worked great last summer and a few times this winter for defrost. Turned it on yesterday and the compressor is not coming on, the switch works (blue light comes on), the amplifier clicks, but no current to the compressor. Any suggestions on where to begin? Thanks

I am assuming that you checked the power to the compressor with a test light or a meter correct?

Yes I did check it with a test light, no current. No current above idle RPM either, so the amplifier must be working, it clicks when the a/c button is pushed.

Is current flowing though the pressure switch? If not there is either a bad pressure switch or low freon.

Did you reset the breaker for the AC? If so then could be lack of coolant, or bad AC switch / clutch mechanism?
