the alternator belt went out today and took the a/c belt with it. took it to a local shop for what i thought would be a quick fix. would have done it myself, but didn't have spares on me and had to get on my way.
problem seems that when the mechanic tried to put on the replacement a/c belt, it was twisting at the crank. he tried adjusting the a/c on it's mount but the belt kept twisting. two different types of belts were tried - neither were OEM though. also, the belt only touches on half of the belt pulley.
has anyone run into this? the other belts are on and fine, and i'm hoping someone has run into this before.
