I'm failry new to IH8MUD, but just acquired my first 80 series (needed 3 rows). This forum has been a great a resource to me. Below are the details on my '99 for sale. I'm offering here for $1k less than on Craigslist.
1999 4Runner Limited 4x4 V6 - Black on Tan
Bulletproof!
I built this up over the past two years to do some serious off-roading and camping with my family. It is incredibly well maintained and reliable. Although it can tackle some of the most challenging local trails (ie John Bull), it is incredibly comfortable and quiet on the highway.
Clean title, never in an accident, original paint (some minor dents/dings), interior in excellent condition. ZERO rust - SoCal vehicle its entire life. Painted flares, side trim and sliders with Bed Liner for a cool look and super easy touch-ups
IMHO, 1999 and 2000 are the BEST years to have, and the Limited model offers all the bells and whistles! 99/00 offer the only combination of AWD, 4WD and locking rear differential. '99 received a bunch of upgrades that are very convenient: VF3AM transfer case (AWD), keyless entry and rear window access, auto front windows, multiple 12 volt outlets front and rear, multi-reflector headlights, rear headrest storage
213k miles, all modifications are in the last 10k miles
factory rear e-locker
ARB front locker
5.29 gears
33" BFG KM2 tires (less than 5k miles, lifetime balance at America's Tire Co)
3" suspension lift (Toytec front springs, OME 861 rear springs, Bilstein 5100 front shocks, Rancho RS9000 rear shocks)
SPC Light Racing Upper Control Arms with adjustable caster and camber
1" body lift - Toytec
diff drop - Toytec
Goodridge stainless, extended brake lines
New Ball Joints
Savage Offroad full skids (front, engine, transmission and transfer case)
Savage Offroad sliders (with additional supports)
Custom gas tank skid plate
Trail Gear rear diff skid plate
TJM custom front bumper: Welded wings, reinforced and custom lighting (LED turn signals and 42W LED wide angle driving lights)
lighting - 360 degree lighting via 9 led lamps operated independently by OTRATTW switches
Whitson Metal works flat roof rack with mounts for ARB awning (perfect for roof top tent)
Engo 9000lb winch, synthetic line, wireless remote - NOT included in sale
removable storage shelf with hinged shelf to create a sleep platform large enough for a full-size air mattress - that's right! sleep two comfortably inside the truck, away from the elements
tinted windows
Everything works, no electronic problems
no engine or trans problems - both have been regularly maintained and not abused
new front axles
rear axle full maintenance (bearings, seals, fluids)
trans flush within last 20k
front and rear differential flush in last 3k miles
timing belt at 192k
Brakes - rotors/pads, drums/shoes, fluids are all fresh
The only known maintenance issue it has is that the steering rack will occasionally leak when steering in difficult situations like rocks or on pavement with the tires at low psi. I keep an eye on the reservoir level and it has only required me to top it off once and the level currently sits within range.
Contact me with any questions.
Thanks!
