I have a 99 and an 06. The 06 has been elected as my next build, the 99 will be a grocery getter.

Reading a number of threads on this topic, most folks seem to have sourced a 98-99 elocker and then sourced other various accouterments like the locker ecu, harness, etc. But since I have both whole and perfectly working vehicles in the barn, how terrible is such a swap?
  1. I know there is a 4.1 and 4.3 ratio difference, I'd likely source another 4 pinion 4.3 front and place my existing 06 front into the 99,
  2. I know the rear housing requires some brake line swapping between the years. Are the bracketries simple bolt-ons?
  3. Is the locker harness integrated in the larger vehicle wiring harness in the 99? If not can any portion of the locking harness and ecu be swapped?
  4. Are there any other major differences that I'm missing?
  5. Again, how tough would this be?
Thanks,

Just replied to your wanted thread. I started chasing. That same thing just to understand. Yes it’s very integrated. Into the rest of the harness. It would not easily be removed. I believe the best bet is to make a new mid harness using some of the plugs front each end.

I have the entire harness taken out of a 98 in a tote.
