Can’t figure out why this is happening only at these speeds and only on inclines….any ideas? The whole truck vibrates and is worse on steeper inclines but only in the speed range

Is it the incline itself, or that the vehicle is under more load from climbing a hill? On a flat stretch at the right speed try giving it power and see if it shakes. Just trying to narrow the cause.

Thanks for the reply….it only occurs on inclines, under load stress. Steeper the incline, worse the shaking

Motor mount maybe, but you should see that revving the engine just sitting. Can't think of anything that's dependent on level or not ground.
Yeah it’s odd. On flat, accelerating, no shake. And only occurs between 50-65 mph on inclines.

Weird. On an incline your front end has a little less weight on it, and your rear end has a little more weight. Not much difference than when flat, but may be enough to unload a loose part in the front end.

And the speed dependence implies that something rotating becomes in sync with its wiggling between 50-65, i.e an out-of-balance wheel, but you’d feel that regardless of incline. So, what is rotating fast and slightly unloaded on an incline? Prolly a wheel bearing issue. But definitely weird.

I’ve experienced that in my ‘01 LX470. Ended up being a bad u-joint. Wondering if the incline could be putting more torque on the driveline to make it more pronounced.

Thx. I’ll check that out. After paying more attention to it, there is a little bit of shaking on level ground, but becomes more pronounced on incline. It’s just between 50 and 65 mph. If I’m going 80 on and incline and gun it, no shake…weird
