Introduction:
Hello All,
I’m a new member although I have been reading the forum at different periods. I have a 2000 LandCruiser with 289,xxx miles and I have decided to keep the vehicle. A dealer will not give me a good trade-in value on it if I were to buy another vehicle so I have decided its worth more to me and always will be. Besides the vehicle has been excellent! I purchased the vehicle when it had 52K miiles. Just took a round trip from MO to NY and it rocked. Recently(2 wks ago) had All belts & water pump / tensioner replaced so its ready.

I have decided to give the vehicle a face lift - recently I replaced the Tail Lights with some Spyder tail lights, replaced inside rear view mirror with upgraded one with homelink & compass etc… Replaced Hi/Lo tone horns (1 failed so I replace both with new ones). I also plan on getting a Paint job but that's later.

I no I’m kind of late to the game for upgrading to the Depo Fog lamp Halogen/LED but better late than never. So my question is has anyone installed these Fog lamp upgrades? SPECIFICALLY connecting the LEDs to the Turn Signal? (I no physically its a fit & plug&play no brainer for the halogen portiion). Even if they connected the LEDs to the existing fog lamp wiring is this a direct connection to the vehicle wiring or is some type of conversion-circuit-adapter needed? My 1ST assumption is that you can just connect directly to the vehicle turn signal wiring and the Depo internal LED module provides the required electronics for interfacing.

I have read the Thread
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/98-2005-landcruiser-depo-1-piece-clear-head-lamp-interest.823928/
but there is no conclusion as to how the Depo LEDs were wired into the vehicle?

My next project will be to upgrade the rear fog lights on the vehicle !
I also need to perform that cigarette lighter fuse fix which I have been procrastinating !

Hey there, welcome. I have installed and wired up the LED portion of the Halogen/LED Depo fog lights, but not to my blinkers. I chose to tie them to the parking lights, but blinkers would have been just as simple. I stated in another thread that the halogen beam is just as good as the stock housings, so no worries there. Note that the LED's are only really markers, they don't provide any usable light for the driver.

As for wiring. It's really simple. Depo provides the splice connectors (the little clip type), so you just have to choose a section of wire to splice them into. Like I said, I chose the parking lights and just tapped into them right behind the socket. I could remove them at any time and just wrap a piece of electrical tape to cover the splice point. I don't normally like to just splice wires in, but this was pretty non invasive.

If you choose to wire them up to the blinkers, please report back here. I was a bit afraid of triggering a hyper blink, although it could probably be fixed with a new relay or resistors.

I assume when you say "hyper blink" you mean the turn signals blink at a faster rate. I am already seeing this because the turn signal bulbs have been replaced in my new Tail Lights with LEDs in the Tail Light modules, at least I assume it is blinking at a higher rate because of the missing bulbs not required for my upgraded Tail lights installed.

Yep, that's exactly what I was talking about. I like those tail lights a lot, the simple solution for you is to just replace the relay. I can't find the link at the moment but if you search the forum there has been talk of the proper unit for LED signal bulbs.
