Look, here's the deal; you got caught double-dealing, and I warned the forum about it.
That's it, that's all. I even made a point of stating that I wasn't suggesting you're dishonest. I also made a point of not mentioning the exact price I offered, so as to not spoil any arrangement you have subsequently made with someone else.
I have bought and sold with literally dozens of people on this forum, with no problems. You, as you stated, are a recent arrival here.
If you'd like the forum to decide which member's integrity to trust, I'll be happy to post our exchange of PMs and let them decide for themselves.
What people here don't like is the runaround. I offered you $600 for the seats and console, you accepted it, then the following day you PMed me with another price of $2500 (and subsequently admitted that you had your respondents mixed-up).
Now you're suggesting that:
a) there was some misunderstanding about what parts I wanted, and
b) I have broken a contract with you
There's not much grey area on what we had discussed. If, for the sake of argument, you're claiming that you didn't know the centre console was part of the parts I wanted, then you're also suggesting that you're asking $1900 for the console since we had already agreed on $600 for what you claim to understand was just the seats. I suggest that anyone seeking $1900 for a used centre console is, at best, delusional.
Considering that someone on this forum just bought a complete non-running LX450 for under $4000, you don't have quite the gold mine you'd hoped. Don't attempt to penalise members of this community for your poor investment. Most of us have been there, to one degree or another. As I stated before, you're free to charge whatever you want, and the market will self-correct, but trolling for better deals AFTER making an agreement is pretty sleazy, and won't make you many friends here.
When I said "without prejudice", I meant it. I don't which you any ill-will, and I wish you good luck selling your truck; just don't jerk me or anyone else here around while you do it. There are members here who wouldn't have been as tactful of forgiving as I was.
You got smacked-down and your position is indefensible. Just leave it, learn from it, and move on.
