my a/c isn't as cold as i would like it. is there an easy fix or better should i upgrade to a new one?

got any ideas?

upgrades?

Mine leaked again after getting it serviced twice so just bought new Denso Compressor, Condenser, expansion valve, Receiver Drier and will have AC shop install it. Did this earlier on my 200 and replaced everything above and cost me $2200 for labor alone.

This is what I did a few years ago and it was the right approach for my rig:

That said, if you think your ac system is in good shape overall you may just need to do some cleaning/tuning to get it back to full performance. If you know what to look for you can get a good sense for where the shortcomings in your system are. For instance, if the AC is really cool when you are moving but not when stationary you may simply need to tune your fan clutch and clean the condenser or take similar actions. etc.

A blue fan clutch with 8k cst oil in it made a huge difference, especially at low speeds, because it pulled a lot more air through the condenser.

An easy thing to check and could make all the difference in the world is look at your heater valve up on the firewall and make sure the arm hasn’t slipped off and it’s still in heat mode. Cuz that happened to me. Your AC won’t overcome that no matter how well it’s functioning. Ask me how I know. 😂

I just had my AC serviced on my 97. Temps at highway speed get down to 47. Idle it climbs to 67. I ordered a modded blue clutch from @landtank this week.

Hoping it ships soon. Dallas is preheating quickly.
