I was talking to the wife about getting a larger vehicle since our family is going to increase by 25% this fall. She was in agreement and then about 12 seconds later we pass an 80 in a toyota dealership lot. I flip a bitch and pull in...Immediately the sharks start circling my FJ55. "can I help you?", "hey man you trading this in??" "this is a land cruiser??". Long story short we found a 97 FZJ80 and bought it. One owner, Diff locks, no gold emblems :flipoff2:

Here are some gratuitous parking lot pics

The wife is already talking crazy talk. Thinks its going to be her DD ;)

This forum rocks!

Congrats on the new cruiser. Looks good, good luck keeping it away from the misses!!

Congrats on the rig! She's a beaut.

An 80 and 55 look so cool side by side. Everyday I get a shiver when I go out to my garage and see my 55 and the wifes 97 FZJ80 smiling at me :D

Enjoy!

She's a beauty!! I have seen a few for sale like that (two tone) on Autotrader, in Washington State, and there's one here in Gilroy.

Great pic in the driveway!

....Would have been sweeter with tan interior :flipoff2: . That is .. if that is actually green . I can't tell if it is , or is a dark pewter ???

Thank gawd you didn't trade the 55 in... that would have been sad...

Nicely done!

I just called on that same cruiser yesterday for a friend that is looking for an 80, but it was sold. I never thought it was someone on here. Are you going to build it up? I have had a couple of built 80's and rarely see any others in the Seattle area. I just picked up a fj60 beater today.

montocr,

Yes I plan on building it up. Although the wife wants to drive it until this winter. Where do you live in the Seattle area? Maybe we could hook up and look at your 80(s). Have you ever gone to any cruiserhead meetings? Anyway let me know. What are your plans for the 60?

I was thinking of going soa on the 60. Possibly cutting it to make a sort of pickup. I don't really have any set plans though. I live in Arlington and work in Everett. I have not been to any cruiserhead meatings, but may be interested. PM me.
