A local is selling the rear leafs for $40. Could I use some of the leaves as AAL's for my 88 FJ62? Can't find leaf specs to see if they are even remotely similar...

With springs that old, you'd probably have to get them rebent anyway. Might as well just go to a spring shop and get a new pair of AAL's at that point. I'd really not trust 14 year old springs that have been re-arched. -- This is all IF they even fit for your application.

I was curious if the sizes would work. You make a good point.

Alcan makes some really good springs... I have them on my truck, and love them.

Alcans and other top spring companies are a lot more than $40.....

Toy pickup springs and Land Cruiser Springs are pretty different animals. Typically Land cruiser springs are wider. I would have to measure, but just from memory, the srings on My T100 (very similar to Taco springs) are narrower than my 60 springs. Also 60's have like 6 leafs, and the pickups only have three, so spring rate is different for sure. I also have noticed the thickness is quite a bit different. Other thing is that Toyota pickups almost have a reverse arc, whereas, Cruisers make a nice curve when not totally flat.

You might be able to make something work, but doubt it. Pretty sure eye to eye is longer also on the pickups, so that they will ride better.

That's the answer I was looking for. I'll look for AAL's somewhere else.
