I'm having a problem with the driver side power window on my boss man's lx450. The motor stops and grinds at consistent intervals as we try to roll the window up. Each time it stops we have to help it through, it goes on it's own power a few inches then stops again. I can't find anything physically wrong with any mechanism. Is it the motor itself? If so does anyone have a spare I could pick up?
 
Could be a few things besides the motor. Could be the window rubber in the runs and could be it is not perfectly on track no more. When it gets cold they all start to do it. I would first spray the rubber runs down with some oil first to see if that helps.
 
Everything mechanical seems to move freely, and the rubber track. When I assist the window it's not wedged tight or anything and move freely about a half inch before the motor starts to turn again.
 
take off the door panel... you should be able to see pretty easily what is holding it up... if nothing is then the motor most likely is fried
 
Took panel off last night and inspected closely and tried lube in numerous places. The window and track were always moving freely but the motor would bind up and stop pushing it. Anybody got a spare motor?

Have you lubed the entire track yet? I am talking all the way up and down both sides and the top. Rubber dries out with age. Had to do this on all my 60's and the 80.

Hey Jason, now that this truck is mine... I would live to not have to pay for a new window motor... I'm sure I could get your spare cheaper than my works price... Haha.
 
Well I thought I lost me gnome to the cruiser cave....

Well since Greg left us someone had to take over parts hoarder status.

He lent me a couple gnomes now that he uses hobbits at his lair. With The fancy door and all the gnomes are much more comfortable in sketchy crawl spaces and cruiser caves as seen here

It really is amazing what you can find in there
