A friend has a 96 camry the left front brake grabs on it's own randomly, also if he hits the brakes while turning left the dash brake light comes on. he did hit a large pothole at 70 mph recently. Anyone got any ideas? I should be under it tomarow

Thanks Rob

I can't think of any reason why a 96-era car could actuate the brake on it's own. A loose caliper or bad slider bushings could make the caliper move enough to drag.

Does the wheel lock up while he's driving? Foot on the gas?

Any grinding noise?

Does the ABS system on this car have independent wheel sensors on both front hubs/wheel assemblies?
