96' 4runner tranny to a 93'?

Don't know, if this is the proper forum to place this in. I am sorry, if it's not.

I have a 1993 with a bad auto transmission.
Have found a 96 toyota 4runner limited w/ the 3.4 auto. Would I be able to switch the 96' tranny/transfer case into the 93?

What engine & transmission do you have? Some of the transmissions are swappable. There should be a label on the side of the transmission on what model it is. If you are going from a manual to an automatic or vice versa you will have wiring issues because the ECU controls the transmission. I don't know if the pins are the same on the ECU ?

The A340E, A340F automatic & the R150 manual should swap in.

You will also have to swap transfer cases.
