Hi everyone, I'm new to this so bare with me please.

My son purchased a 95 Toyota Pick up and it fails the emmissions on both test reports. Is there an easy fix?

Thanks for your help in advance.

In order to be helpful- I think we need more information.

Like, what state are you in?

What is that states testing procedure?

Evidently there are two parts, judging by your statement that it failed on both points.

Obvious things to do are plugs, wires, air filter, fresh oil change, a little throttle body cleaner, maybe some fuel injector cleaner run through with a good tank of fuel.

That's all I can suggest without more specifics.

95 Toyota Emmissions

Thanks Luke,

The city and state is Franklin, Tennessee.

My son has is going to do several things people suggested.
i.e. Retard the timing, 93 octane, rubbing alcahol, no air filter etc.

Thanks again.

I don't know if Tennessee makes you replace parts until your bankrupt, but in alot of states if you are flunking, all you have to do is make an improvement. Example: You are allowed to emit 10 parts per 100, you are actually emitting 15 parts per 100. All you've got to do is get to 14 parts per 100 and you pass. A couple nice choices would be: (a) you live in a state where that's the case, even if your state government doesn't broadcast the fact, or (b) your smog station has zillions of little shenanigans they can pull to get your engine to pass. Good luck Kimosabi!!!!!
