My father is looking at 95 4Runner SR5 fully loaded 3.0L V6 Auto Red with 89,000 miles. He said its only had one owner and he kept all the service receipts. It has no rust and body is pretty much perfect. They PO even kept the window sticker when he bought and it went for around $30,00 back then. The PO traded it in and the dealership is asking $6900 for it. What are some of pros and cons that you guys have found? He thought it was quite weird that the sticker only said 14 city and 16 highway mpg. I suppose from being geared so low. Any info would very much appreciated..He has owned many Toyota's in the past just not a 4Runner and he wants to make sure this ok to maybe buy. Thanks

It can get better than that. Look at the old fuel standards. I had a T-100 with the same motor and it got 21 on the hwy 19 in town. I know if it is 4x4 it will prob get 18 combined. Good truck. My buddy in College finally retired his after 340,000 when the head gasket blew. His had the 3L

Good truck

Go for it

Girlfriend has a 99 4x4. Mileage around town is 15 or so and interstate is 19 as long as you stay around 70. They are not fast by any means but they are reliable. Hers has 225K with minimal maintanance(timing belt done, AC recharged, tune up, oil and fluids) and very few repairs (bad alternator).

Well I bought the the 4Runner SR5 from my dad that he bought a few months back...i bought after I sold my GTI so I could have more dependable vehicle as a DD..I love it..i dont care that it gets ****py gas mileage or drives kinda heavy..ive always loved the look of them and its pry the cleanest one i ve ever seen and it came fully loaded for that year..here are some pics..ill post more later..

Cool, Tristan, I assume it is 4WD

Yes i did unfortunately...I sold it to my dad for what I put into and what i paid on the loan...he took that price off of the 4Runner he sold to me..i pry could have tried to sell my 40 but who knows how long that would have taken and I really don't have time to do that with having two jobs right now..he works for a guy that has quite a few warehouses up north so he is going to just leave it in there in the winter and drive it some around in the summer..he will pry take better care of it than anybody I know so I know its in good hands..

And later, you can buy it back from him

Well I hope that I don't have any problems and I'll be sure to do lots of PM on it.
