Replaced the shifter seat and bushing but still pops out of gear. It feels like its in gear but still pops our unless I hold it in gear. Noticed an upgrade for shift fork from Marlins. Any other ideas?

I think that fork is for the T-case.

Are you able to drop your tranny and take a look under the top cover?

Usually that is an indication that something is worn out. As the mainshaft and/or countershaft changes position or "shifts" due to a thrashed bearing, it makes the synchro come off. First gear is almost always the first place you notice it since the torque on the parts is highest and therefore the movement is greatest.

Does your tranny have detent balls/springs on the top cover? My 40 used to pop out of 3rd consistently, and after going in via the top end I found several of the balls and/or springs missing.

Thanks for the responses I will just have to pull it out and see what is going on.
