Dead thread

Picked up an 80 series yesterday. the Build date is 12/94 - which would make one think it's a '95 model, but it doesn't have air bags and has the old style dash.

It was a HARD roll. Actually, I think it was a front end that became a roll - but anyway...

It only has 17,000 miles on it.

I bought it mainly for the engine - and I"m keeping that. Was gonna keep the tranny and transfer case too, but since the tranny isn't the same as my '97, no reason to.

So, the big parts that are available that I know I'm selling (I'll price as I have time to figure out what they're worth):

Added a few prices

-Front and Rear Locking Diffs / Axles (gonna determine this week if I'm going to put this front end on
my truck and sell my '97 200K front with this rear)

$1300 front
$600 rear
$1800 pair w/ switch ect.

-Transmission - $700

-Transfercase - $700

-Hitch $50

-Middle and 3rd row seats - grey. I haven't determined if I'm keeping the fronts yet or not - we'll see how well they all clean up as to what they're worth

-ABS unit $300

- Catalytic converters - I can't use the side by sides, but since these have only 17K on them, would be cheap replacement if yours are gone.

LITTLE PARTS:

Tell me what you want. It's a grey interior. I'm going to remove all the seatbelts, so let me know if anyone wants them.

Switches -

Trailing arm. I'm using two of the '94s, but will have the one straight one off my '97 if anyone needs one.

PS rear door glass

PS sliding window

There is no other glass in the truck.

tailgate is good if anyone needs one - only straight piece of steel on whole body!

Anyone need a stock muffler and tailpipe? Not normally something I'd think to sell, but since it's so few miles.....

Springs - front and rear seem fine

Shocks - want some stock shocks with only 17K on them?

THE STUFF I KNOW I'M Keeping

- Engine

- Radius arms

- Trailing arms

- Rear Swaybar

- Front Swaybar

The stuff I'm not sure what I'm going to do with - help me make up my mind??

Rims - 3 good, one bent, that could be fixed - no spare. Don't know if I'm going to sell these off individually for people who want a second spare, or If someone would want to buy the set and have one straighted, or if I want to have the one straightened and have a spare set..

I would be interested in the seats, if the price is right. If you decide to let the front seats go, I want those, too.

I wonder how hard and axle swap would be? Locking diffs would be really cool!!

Hold the seatbelts, too.

I'm interested in the rear locking diff if you will separate the two. I'll PM you.

FYI - There is nothing on the truck ahead of the engine - no headlights, grill, ect. I swear I think they hit a post and flipped end over end - hit the front beam so hard the front frame horns are bent inward.

I'd kind of like to sell both axles together with the switch, locker harnesses, and everything - just because I think it's more usefull that way. If I get an offer on both axles individually, I'll split them though.

Let me clean the seats up and see what the condition is - Don't want to quote you $800 and have them be junk, but don't want to quote you $200 and screw myself either. I think third rows usually go for $150-200, so I'll go off that on the pricing if they clean up good. They've been sitting quite a while, and my biggest concerns were the axles and the drivetrain, so I didn't look at them real close. They don't seem to be ripped, and it was covered part of it's wrecked life, but not all of it's life.

As far as how hard an axle swap is - check this out:

https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/26446-retro-fit-locking-diff-non-locked-housing.html

It's mostly about putting the locking 3rd memeber into a non-locking housing, but it's got some info. on the wiring too. Using these complete axles, it's a matter of unbolting the axles and brakes and such, putting in the locked axles, switch, locker ECU, and wiring it up. That's obviously oversimplified, but you get the idea.

Then you sell your unlocked axles here:

https://forum.ih8mud.com/wanted-parts-tires-wheels/203593-wanted-1993-1997-fzj-80-axles.html

Holding the seatbelts - Seat belts and seats will be the first parts out - as I want to chop the top off to get easy acess to the rest.

Are both front and rear axles straight, no kinks, bend and or damage to both of them? So how much are you going to sell them both axles?

rear lower control arms?

I need to replace the (locking) front diff on my 80, so I could be your front axle guy.

looking for the gray arm rest on top on the center console. got it? condition? pic? price?

Steering column cover, leather wrapped steering wheel, leather wrapped shifter knob, front mud flaps, center caps on wheels, struts on hood and back hatch. Grey carpet in good to excellent shape.. I'll stop there. Shoot me some prices. CDL switch?

WOW!!! didn't expect this kind of response. I'll get to you all, but don't be surprised if it's not till the weekend. I wasn't expecting this much this quick, I've so far just got the vehicle from Shawnee to home, and thought that was a big accomplishment ;) If I haven't responded to you by Sunday - PM me to remind me - but I'll do my best not to skip anyone.

I'm adding some prices to the first post on the big items...

Looked at other ads and at Irbis Offroad to see what fair market value is, and I came up with:

Front $1300
Rear $600
Pair w/ switch and harness $1800

It will be at least a couple weeks before I can get them out of the vehicle. I'm not a professional dismatler after all ;)

I'll check for damage again, and snap some photos for ya', I'm 99% sure they're fine. As I said earlier, I'm gonna put this front in my truck, so the front will be the one from my LX - which is locked, with 200K, the rotors on it have about 40K on them. I'd do a birfield repack on it before I put it in anything, not that it's bad now, but as long as the axle is out, it would seem to be the time to do it.
