I have recently purchased a 91 fj80 with a little over 200k on it. Was going to try and install a 6.2 diesel in it but with the recent wreck that I had to my 95 fzj80 and the birth of my second child three weeks ago I have been hit with the realization that I have no time to take on a project of this scale. My question is if it were up to you would you part the truck out or simply look at trying to find a buyer for the LC as it sits? LC ran but had a noise coming from engine when I bought it. Guy thought it was a rod bearing but the noise sounds to be in the upper end of the engine to me. I have already removed the all necessary parts for the removal of the engine. Let me know what you think.

You can make some money parting it out.
But if you don't have a lot of time , i would sell it.
It's a time consuming and a dirty job for sure.
If you don't like wasting you time boxing parts up for people that will end up not buying the parts. Don't part it out.

cangratulations on my baby.
Sorry to here about the wreck on the 95.

Good luck
Brian

With it being a 91 and with a bad engine it won't bring that much all together. More money to part it out but it takes a lot of time. I'm doing that right now but have found little time to actually do it.

Thanks for the replies about what to do. I am going to see if I can find a used engine that I can drop in and then sell. I fI cant find the engine then for a descent price than i will try and part out or make a trade. Currently looking for a lots of pats for the 95. Sliders, lift, and front and rear bumpers. The 95 goes to the shop this Monday to get the door rocker panel and other stuff fixed.

Congratulations on the baby!

If you decide to part it out, I'd be interested in the DS and PS front fenders if they're in decent shape, and the DS rear door flare, the headliner if it's tan and a few other goodies. I'm in Northern VA and can come to pick up the parts if you decide to go that way.

Best of luck with your decision.
