My '99 is approaching 180k so it is time to have the timing belt (and other items) replace again. I just moved to Dallas from Houston in June so I do not have a shop (dealer or indy) to go to. Prior to moving I had all work performed at Don McGill Toyota (I have owned her since '01). I asked my service guy in Houston for a recommendation and he said that he had did not have one for the Dallas area.

I did perform a search but the results were inconclusive.

Any input is appreciated!

Thanks

Depends on what area of the Dallas area. I've had good luck with Toyota of Irving and Toyota of Lewisville. Grapevine Toyota service is horrible now that the service manager left.

Just get a list of the items you want done and call around for prices. The service departments who will take time to price everything out for you probably will do a good job. The ones that think they know better than you and upsell crap like nitrogen in your tires probably are more hassle than they're worth.

For parts, Dallas Toyota internet sales is great because you can swing by and pick up your order at the counter. You pay sales tax but save the shipping charge.

Just my $0.02.

Look up JP euro or JP Importz. Owner Jason Phan is very good and honest.

There are some Lexus/Toyota specific repair shops around like davenport in Plano but I have never used them. There is the cruiser shop in dallas but I don't know anything about them.
Gordy up in frisco at dallas precision imports does great work and reasonable.

Pat Lobb Toyota in Mckinney has been good to me. I specifically request the tech named Darren. He does good work on my cruiser and LS.

Cruiser shop in Dallas is good... just don't be in a rush.

Texican in Bonham has also done good diff work for me with locker and armor installs. (labor rates are good)

Toyota of Richardson has been handling my cruiser for the last 160,000 miles. I have almost 220,000 now. Toyota of Plano sucks, I would stay away from them.

You could call Josh at BaerTrax and ask. He is a great guy and will steer you right. I've used him for other items.

Ask for Jacque in the Internet Parts Department at Toyota of Dallas and he will steer you to a good tech there. Jacque has always taken good care of me on parts.

Haven't had any really bad experiences with Toyota of Plano, but they are never price competitive on parts. Toyota of Dallas has treated me far better.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. Stewbo, do you have a service provider name at Richardson Toyota? They are not far from me. Thx!
