Ok so I am heading to look at a 2 owner cruiser and I have a few questions for you guys. It is an 89, 3fe 62 cruiser. It has 180,000 miles, original paint, no rust in wheel wells, only on receiver hitch and driver side rear corner(which is only surface, no bubbling). This i can fix by taking the hitch off and wire wheeling anywhere the rust ate through the frame paint surface and por-15 it. it has torn front seats, the front chrome bumper has a dent in it, and the driver side bumper corner is missing.

If it drives well, is $3000 a fair price? I think i can get my hands on the factory records according to current owner.

Thanks for feedback,
Spence

$3K sounds good, depends on condition of transmission/t-case/diffs/knuckles, etc, which can get pretty pricey if they haven't been serviced in 180K miles. If it doesn't have a tranny cooler that's been on for most if it's life, you're looking at a new transmission after 200K. Otherwise, check for oil leaks, look at t-case fluid if you can to see if there is tranny fluid in there, etc.

What about the suspension? Stock? If so, may need new components, more $$$.

How chewed up is the interior (other than front seats)? Dash cracked, rear cargo area torn up? Condition of carpet? Front windshield cracked? More $$$.

All these things added together could bring the value down below $3K.

Post pics if you can.... If you can't host them, put them on photodump.org and link to them.

Finally - Cruiserheads around your area (Winston-Salem) would jump at the chance at going with you to take a look at it for 2nd opinion. You're in Lewisville, where is the cruiser? Might want to double-post in the Olde North State Cruisers section.

Zcruiser,
This cruiser is actually Greg ashcrofts cruiser in raleigh. He is the guy heading up olde north state cruisers.

Ha! OK, then, good to go! I paid much more than that for my '89...
