A new to me 60 followed me home from Fort Wayne last Friday. So I now have an LC again. It runs pretty well except for the fact that the choke needs to be pulled out a couple clicks in order to not to buck n stumble at highway speeds. Does anyone know what Jim C. charges for a carb rebuild? I am going to try and work some things out but I may need to drop the carb off to him. I plan on checking for leaks around the carb but I don't have a vacume guage to do some of the checks. It also is "desmogged" and the egr is plated plated. So there could be multiple things casing the need for the choke.

I have a Holley that runs like a raped ape on the road and sucks off road, Yours for a twelve pack of shiner bock once my rebuild comes back from Jim's playhouse.

That might be the ticket. I could swap it and then send Jim mine for a rebuild. I was thinking about trying to rebuild it my self but I really don't know just how difficult it is to do. Can anyone give me a ball park figure on what he charges for a rebuild? The PO removed the entire ac system, i have all the parts and apparently it worked before they "desmogged" the engine. I really need a pdf of the fsm emissions manual. I shoud buy one.

He used to be around 250 plus if memory serves...its been a while since I checked though.

Carb rebuild if the truck is here at the shop is $275. The reason it stumbles on the highway is because of the tired carb AND the hillbilly deluxe desmog. I can fix all of it.

I have 2 nearly complete 86-87 FJ60's here for parts. You oughta get down here soon and unbolt anything you want. The U-pull-it prices are cheap 'cause the trucks are going to the crusher soon. AC systems look like they were intact on both trucks.

Thanks. I am going to attempt the Oklahoma fix for the carb and if it is still giving me problems I will be in touch. I have looked over the "my desmog" thread more times than I care and there are definitely some things missing and not routed correctly. I have tried to use Trappers photos as a reference but it is hard when you are looking at the engine bay and are trying to figure what is gone. It'd be easier if everything was there and identify what needs to come off rather than what is missing. How soon before the parts mobiles go to the scrappa? How long would it take for a carb rebuild? I know you are a busy guy.
