I had a buddy call me today about an FJ60. Long story short a customer is trading an 87 FJ60 in at Lithia.... it only has 75,000 on it! Bone stock, no rust, everything appears to be in great shape, seat covers since new, good paint, the whole 9 yards! He wanted to know what it is worth or if I was interested in it. Nothing has been set in stone yet but it sounds like they are going to offer him $5,000 for it but they don't know if they want to resell it on their lot or auction it off. IF there was a potential buyer on hand it would probably be possible to offer the guy $5000 in cash OR buy it off Lithia for probably $1000 more than what they paid for it. Any interest? I am supposed to receive pics and more details within the next day or two.

Color....? What color is the "just newly broken in" engine? Or the tranny and driveline?? If I had the cash the last thing on my mind would be color- I'd be more interested in making sure someone else didn't get away with a classic Cruiser in what is apparently pristine shape. :hhmm:

I may know someone who's been interested, my brother has been looking for a clean FJ-60 for a while now.

Color is blue some minor oxidation, tan interior in perfect condition. No rust. Major rebuild by wheeler toyota 10k ago...pistons, rings...and more. Bone stock. Owned by 80 year old who gave to his 60 year old son. Now wants to trade in. Guy is clueless what its worth. My buddy has to talk to the general manager to see what they want to do with it if they take it in. Has some sort of squeal in 1st/2nd gear, not sure of problem...if its a bad bearing in tranny it could be super cheap. Pics later today....

Dude, tell me about it. If I hadn't bought the 4runner I would have been all over this!

That is sweet, what a find. The days of running across something like that are getting pretty slim. That is as new as it gets. Should get down to the dealer and trade my 62 in on that one!

Naaa, just kidding.

I think that rig belonged to a guy out here in the boonies at one time who owned the little service station right by the river on the Provolt side of the bridge. I would see it from time to time out and about. The gray and white stripe definitely matches.

You want it don't you Kief?? :hhmm:

Gabe really needs something besides an 80 in his yard-

I wonder if any of his old posts say anything about the 80 being so much better than a 60???

If it were the same mileage for a '97 I'd be jumping at it too.

I love 60's. One of my best friends in elementry school had one (well, his folks did). They had that 60 for years, I always loved it. I just see the 80 as an improved wagon, the next step up from a 60. ;)

But for some....Up is Down and left is right!

UPDATE.... Lithia is keeping the 60 and trying to sell it on their lot. I didn't ask for how much but it is on that used car lot of theirs out on crater lake hwy. I'd be curious what they are asking.
