86 FJ60 Tuffy install help

I’ve checked the threads but still at a loss. It seems that others have fastened their square tubing directly to the floor of the rig and mounted the Tuffy to that. I don’t have holes on the floor, rather two brackets that seem to be affixed to the floor… it seems too tall in this configuration. Any help would be appreciated here- see photos to help me fix my stupidity 😂

its been years but if I recall I just drilled holes in the bottom of the tuffy and mounted it directly to the old console brackets(what you have), I moved it rearward a bit at the same time been working great for close to 20 years

edit, I also moved the tuffy a bit off center toward the passage seat to give me more room.

I didn't use any tubing. And I didn't have brackets like that. I drilled through the floor in back, and into the body rib in the front. I thought it would be super clever to get the nuts inside that rib. I did eventually get it, but I dread ever having to remove it.
