I spoke with @ToyotaMatt yesterday, he is around and is trying to keep up with the volume of parts that he has to ship out. In my hunt for putting my Rig back to OEM, I do have some left over parts that could work in your situation - but - I am not an expert in the differences in years and what parts may or may not be interchangeable. and, I'll tell you .. these parts were not easy to come by.

Mark @6545SWB at Mark's off road may or may not sell just the pieces; but, I think he will have a minimum order. He might chime in; but, he conducts his business via phone - and that number can be gleaned here: Marks Off Road Home Page - http://www.marksoffroad.net/index2.html . Note, he is super super busy. Very direct and straight forward.

I spent more on these parts, and still didn't get everything that I needed, then what @ToyotaMatt charged for the whole linkage setup - which wasn't a small number.

Going a cable route, which I have parts to do that .. would require some fabrications and a different peddle. I'd recommend OEM, personally; throttle cable as a last resort.

Greetings! My first Forum post for guidance. I have an '82 Venezuelan FJ43 with a "jumpy" Accelerator Rod issue (see attached). Vehicle does not take bumps or potholes well. Accelerator Rod pops out of the firewall bracket often. Local Toyota mechanic has attempted to modify the tip and adjusted the bracket, but not much luck. I can fix on the fly, but getting stranded in some tough spots. Would love some help on additional fixes or a parts resource for those knowledgeable in this area.

i can make time here early this evening to be brought up to speed here , to see how i can possibly assist you here ,

as mr @DeskJock klearly mentioned , i have a single-level priority parts topic i am lazer focused on at the moment that includes not taking on any manual special order kustom-taylored orders that would distract me from this ....

however ,

if i do have a linkage part , or parts that are 100% dialed in , and zero time involved other then printing a shipping label on your box .....?

this
is a life-safety gerry-rigged , dangerous as S#IT parts issue above i am very familiar with .......as i see it from your photos ..

- i see a 50/50 chance your gas pedal can stick to the floor each time a red light turns green and u shift through your H42 4 gears , or you pull out of a 7-11 parking lot during rush hour traffic ....

i would NOT drive your FJ40 until the accelerator linkage part or parts are corrected , to a normal parts level in every single way ....

this is not a joke , nor my usual use of satire and dry humor here , i have personally 2 times in my life had FJ40 accelerator linkage hang-up and stay freeze-framed after pressing the gas pedal , i was driving on roads with other cars and trucks each time ...... i got lucky-stars both times ,,,

Thanks for the follow-up Matt. Totally get your laser focus, and ready to chat when you're free. Please pass along some days and times this upcoming week we can link up. Totally get the severity of my linkage issue and have been fortunate to fix my issue on the fly and have pulled into many 7-11s for onsite repair training... Appreciate your help and willingness for guidance. Glad some parts are available and at your fingertips.

Cheers and Chat soon

Thanks for the follow-up here and for the heads up with ToyotaMatt. He did send along a follow-up late Friday, so I know he LIVES... Good to know about your OEM journey and the spare parts above. I have been able to narrow down the OEM numbers attached if this is helpful for you in the future. I will see what transpires with my discussion him this week, but super thankful for the Toyota Community and guidance. Long Live Toyota Nation!
