I'm selling my 1982 FJ40, I'm the second owner and it has many modifications. Mods include: V8 Chevy TPI, aluminum radiator, sagnaw power steering, custom 9" lift with Man-A-Free Safari springs, Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks, 35" Goodyear Wranglers, American Racing aluminum wheels, aluminum body tub from fire wall back, full roll cage, Man-A-Free bull bar and tire carrier, 9000lb Ramsey Winch (never used), custom paint, new clutch, Corbera custom seats, besides front seats interior has been kept original. This is a one of a kind rig in good condition. I've got over 30K in it and recepts on engine and suspension work. Asking $16,000 I'm located in Boise, ID and can send pics. excuse the noob question..
but why the conversion to the V8 Chevy? I thought the 2F with the FJ60 transmission and power steering in these years was a good and desireable combo? Just curious... & learning..

After lurking & lusting over FJ40s for a few years, I think I've come to the conclusion that I'd like to get an '81 or '82 FJ40 with the stock 2F, FJ60 trany, etc.. Is that sensible?
