I have an '82 22r with a carb that was having a problem. Being that I need punishment I decided to rebuild a carb that I've had waiting for years. Visually the same carb and the rebuild went way easier than I had expected. This weekend I exchanged the carbs and now the truck has a higher than normal idle. Short of the story is that I took the rebuild back off and compared the two size bu side and there's subtle differences.

Googled some numbers I found on the top of the carbs and they almost make sence to me.

The carb I pulled off has 3B1 with an alumn. tag that has 35220.
The rebuild is 2D, (that's all, a little incomplete?) with the alumn. tag 35071.

Can someone enlighten me on some info?

Thanks,
Matt

I've determined that the carb numbers mean nothing to me and the differences found in the linkage is the culprit. I'm guessing the reason someone gave me my spare carb was because they boogerd up the linkage. So by me rebuilding it had no effect.

In the mean time I'm going to see if I can clean up the old carb needle/seat and if that don't work I'll be buying a rebuild kit.

Can you not swap the linkages?
