Do 80 series springs fit the 100 rear? If so, I've heard rumors that stock 80 springs provide a measurable lift to the 100 in the rear?

I did a search but didn't find an answer, sorry if this is a FAQ as I don't normally follow the 100 board as I'm not lucky enough to have one... :whoops:

Yes, but it depends on what you want. With a lot of weight the 866's (heviest 100 series rear spring) might not give you the lift you want. The 863's (from a 80 series) are listed as the same spring rate as the 866's but they are longer. that is what Amando and Shotts (and maybe some others) are running.

I ran oem 80 series springs in the rear of the LX470

Christo -

What about running 863 Js in the back of a 100 (not a Lexus)? How much would I get then (assuming no rear bumper or sub tank or drawers)? Not sure if the standard weight difference in back would help keep it down a bit.

TIA,

I'll re-measure my 100 later and update. I was running 850 100 springs with 20mm of trim packers and had a 3-inch gain. When I added the Slee rear bumper I added 863 80 springs and gained about another 1/2 lift despite the weight of the new bumper. I'll measure though later today. The ride is a tad less cushy than before however the thing still maintains it's RockLimo ride quality. The firmness was appreciated off road over the 100 springs.

14 3/4" distance from the top of the 16-inch rim to the bottom of the wheel well. 40-inches from the ground to the wheel well (through the center of the wheel with 35-inch tires). This is about 3/8 more lift than before and that's now with the Slee Bumper. The spring rate is also firmer, perfect for this setup. I'd bet 863's without the bumper would be rough (like my 80)?

Cristo, can you chime in since you've had the OEM 80 series spring in the LX470?

I have sliders on the way that are for non-AHC 100, so I'm going to have to rip out the AHC. I'll need torsion bars, shocks and springs at that time (Soon;)). I'm on the wait list at Slee for the torsion bars and everything else including the Slee 2.5" rear springs since I'm going to have a rear bumper... eventually. Until I get the rear bumper my back end will be waaaay too high, so, in the meantime, I'd like to use my stock OEM 80series springs that are sitting around in the garage, but I'd still like at least a little lift. Maybe: OEM 80 rear springs + trim packers?

BTW - I'm about to install my lift so I'll have a full stock LC suspension here in the next week or so if you need any parts let me know!
