After lots of searching threads it can be concluded that the underbody rear heater hoses are 13mm ID and the firewall heater hoses are 16mm ID. Most recommendations point to Gates Green Stripe 5/8" ID (15.9mm) for the firewall and 1/2" ID (12.7mm) for the underbody ones. I'd prefer OEM style and size if possible, however given you can't buy the hoses separately, does anyone know if Toyota lists any other OEM straight heater hoses that are 13mm ID and 16mm ID that will work for this application (for example heater hoses from a 100 Series or other)?

> If not available has anyone had any issues using the 1/2" or 5/8" Gates Green Stripe given they are slightly undersized?

I vote for delete

You are in New Zealand. There isn't a source for metric heater hoses?

Also, being located in New Zealand, the need for rear seat heat isn't that great, unless you maybe live in the south of the south island. Deleting is an option.

I will second the fact that the hoses do come with the hardlines, and not separately as I have replaced both of my hardlines.

Yes, you can use 100 series heater hoses. Search the EPC for the areas you need; the hoses you want form a 100 are in teh same general areas as they are in the 80.

Most I can find are the same 1/2", maybe they'll do just fine! I do use the rear heater to keep the kid warm in winter so preference is to keep.

Inch size hose will not seal under pressure. At best, they'll weep.

Even since 1/2" (12.7mm) are smaller diameter, when 13mm is required?

These ones from a 100 Series look like they might work but hard to be sure they are the right diameter.

I purchase new hard lines when i rebuilt my engine, Found the part number on partsouq and ordered from my local dealer.

You'll have to match the position; I can't see your truck from here. The tubes are the same size.

I went with Gates 1/2" Green Stripe from the firewall back and wound up using Powergrip clamps simply because there was not enough room at the rear heater connection for two hoses and two Toyota clamps. The section near the manifold is insulated and I used a couple AN style clamps along the inner frame rail.

It has only been a few months, but I run the rear heat any time I can an have found no sign leaks or weeping. I was a bit concerned about the proximity to a section of exhaust pipe, so I put on a bit of motorcycle exhaust shield. My IR thermometer does not show much difference in temps along the hose length.
