HI Mudders
need some suggestions as to what we can do here in Africa with a HDJ81 A442F gearbox which has the following problem:
it had a problem on the third gear, used to judder then go into the next gear ,when on drive. we stripped the gear box down,replaced the third gear clutches which looked worn out.replaced the inner and outer seals as well.
now the vehicle does not engage into the third gear,tries to go into the third, but jumps back onto the second, basicly gears 1 & 2 engaging only.
I suspect it is the solenoids or the valve sticking but if anyone has had a similar problem and managed to fix it then PLEASE let me know how.
the mechanics out here are not the best and want to replace the whole box.
