So I decided I wanted to upgrade my current radio. The one that is in it has BT but disconnects, sound quality it garbage and is just slow. Found some cheap radio from Walmart with Apple car play and I bought it since I had good luck with the same radio in my other car. Everything went pretty smooth except for breaking my brittle dash in half (nothing a little bondo can’t fix). I installed the new radio harness into the factory plugs only to realize I had lost power to my full time power source wire. My buddy who loves to install radios said this has happened to three cars of the same year before with him. I’m wondering if this is an issue or if this is an issue I’ll have to figure out on my own. Thought I’d ask y’all before I start doing some stuff
Thanks in advance

Did your interior lights also go out? If so, there's a fuse in the engine compartment fuse box that most probably blew.

Nope. Interior light works.
But I ended up running a wire from the battery to the radio since it’s a constant power source. But it had a weird issue happen in which I’m still scratching my head.
I lost my 12V switch voltage and it dropped to .7V so I found a loose plug that went to nothing and spliced into it after making sure it turned off with the key. When I put the radio in it lost its power also. So I ended up calling it a day.
After getting everything back together the radio decided to come on. The truck has been on for 10 minutes now or more.
But it works and I’m not gonna screw with it again
