Is this 12 volt to 24 volt, or vice versa? And if it converts 12 volt to 24, what is it for on an 80 series? Is the HDJ81 starter 24 volts, but it only draws from one battery?

If it is actually a 24 volt to 12 volt switched converter, could this possibly be used to wire up a 12 volt stereo with an, "auto on" set up, or would it not work that way?

Factory hdj80’s are 12 volt but the starter works at 24 volt and this part does just that , no idea how that dark magic just works
